NEW ALBUM

This is my second album of songs, written over the past few years and recorded over several months at Utopia Studios in Hertfordshire, at Hear No Evil in Fulham and also at home. With the title Big Fire, the flavour is definitely acoustic but with some real electric additions. I've had help from some great musicians, especially Olly Blanchflower the wonderful double bass player with whom I've been playing live during the past couple of years.

Some Album Reviews

Americana UK: "Roger Askew's second album is a delight. It's divinely musical, with a bit of funk,
a bit of rock, plenty of groove and some great songs particularly the title track.
"Big Fire"- big voice, big talent". Jeremy Searle

Classic Rock Society: "This album blew me away, not only has Askew got a great voice & written fine songs but he has brought on board musicians and backing vocals that add the finishing polish!" Martin Hudson

Bristol Evening Post: "Interesting gravelly voice with loads of tonal colour & he sings with a soulful style. Roger writes well & the title track has a big sound. Some real stand out tracks."

Rootsmusic.co.uk: "Roger Askew's second album "Big Fire" is a worthy follow up to his debut "Scarab Moon". It ploughs a similar furrow in acoustic based tracks - blues, rock and pop. Roger's voice seems fuller and stronger on this new CD, especially on tracks such as "Let me be a River" . Plenty to listen to here. "
